Mauriceville School is a small rural school offering a learning environment where students are known, valued, and supported. Our programmes emphasise hands-on learning, with regular opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through trips to local and regional areas. Alongside this, we are exploring the refreshed curriculum and supporting students through the different phases of learning.
We place a strong emphasis on connection and collaboration, particularly with our rural cluster schools, Wainuioru, Whareama, and Tinui. These inter-school connections provide valuable opportunities for our students to build friendships and take part in shared sports days, cultural events, and design technology experiences.
Our school has two teachers, including the principal and a part-time teacher, and our open-plan classroom allows for a flexible approach to learning. We balance structured learning with buddy learning, collaboration, and whole-class activities.
Our school is currently guided by our PRIDE values: Proud, Respect, Integrity, Determined, and Engaged. However, we are in the process of developing a values approach that reflects our current school culture and community. We look forward to sharing these with you as we bring them to life within our school.
Set in a beautiful rural environment, Mauriceville School reflects the strengths and character of our community. We are proud to be both a Garden to Table school and an EnviroSchool, embedding sustainability and real-world learning into everyday practice. Strong relationships with students, parents, whānau, and the wider community sit at the heart of everything we do, supporting our learners to grow, connect, and thrive.
